We are looking for enthusiastic volunteers to help seventh graders begin thinking about their career choices and future finances now!
Volunteers will teach Junior Achievement’s “Economics for Success”, a structured curriculum that gives students the information needed to build strong personal finances, a cornerstone to a happy, secure life. Students learn the importance of exploring career options based on their skills, interests, and values. They also learn about spending money within a budget; saving and investing wisely; and using credit cautiously. The WCCCC has determined these skills to be so important, we have committed to help teach them to every Barbers Hill seventh grader!
Time: The course consists of six one-hour lessons, to be taught once a week between mid-February and mid-April. A minimum of one hour per lesson should be allocated to prepare in advance. Volunteers will sign up for a particular day and time (i.e., Wednesdays at 10) and will correspond closely with the teacher of their class.
